Amiwest is the premier Amiga-focused show in North America. Amiwest has provided a haven for like-minded individuals to come and celebrate all things in the Amiverse: Commodore Amiga's, Emulation, Aros, AmigaOS 4, and MorphOS . The show has become a yearly event in the community, with many new product announcements and introductions expected. Over the years, the show has seen Amiga companies come and go. Our goal has to be to create an environment for the community to come together and share ideas and AAA good times through it all.

DevCon Information

What is DevCon?

AmiWest is rebooting DevCon this year after a brief hiatus. DevCon is the pre-show event that focuses exclusively on topics of interest to the programming community. Attendees are a typically a group of enthusiasts ranging from curious, amatuer, and professional programmers. All are welcome, though space is limited. The traditional $50 fee for attendence is also waived this year as SACC is sponsoring the event!

DevCon presentations, while technical, are presentations and not a step by step programming class. However, attendees are encouraged to bring equipment and explore the topics during and after the session.

Schedule and Broadcast

The plan is to open the room as close to 8:00am as possible so everyone can get into the room well before the 10:00AM start time to setup machines. Each day has 2 presentations with each slotted for around 2 hours. That will bring scheduled presentations to a close around 3:00 each day. At that point we will open the floor to anyone wanting to discuss their personal projects before ending the day. We have the room for as long as we want it on Thurday. We need to wrap up Friday by 5:00 to start flipping the floor for the main show.

Food

We need to arrange for our own lunch. The hotel can order in sandwiches for us, and we have ordered in Pizza in the past as well. We will figure out lunch before we start the sessions each day so orders can arrive at a decent time.

What is provided

There are 12 tables available with power and wired network. Attendees with equipment can use a full table. Additional seating is available for those who wish to attend and view the presentations without bringing equipment. See the show schedule for the lineup of speakers.

Check back here later to get links to any downloads the presenters make available

What You need to Bring/Setup

You will need to bring your equipment (naturally). Each session covers differnt areas, so you can optionally setup your equipment with the tools for those sessions.

For Camilla's session, she will be in a classic Amiga OS 3.2.1 environment with Codecraft and SAS/C. You should also download NDK 3.2

For Jerry's session, he will be in a classic Amiga OS 3.1 or greater environment running with Blitz Basic 2.1 and DPaint IV.

For Sam's session, we will use Hollywood 9.1. and the RapaGUI plug in. You can download his material from his GitHub repository

For Francoi's session, we will use AOZ Studio (Windows, Linux, Mac).
